Co-founders of ShalomMemphis.com Jeff Roberts and Hal Mandelman explain that they saw a need for a central contact point for the Memphis Jewish community. “Most people don’t realize what a diverse and thriving community we have” Mr. Roberts stated.
The Shalom Memphis web site provides easy to navigate links to all of the resources that our community has to offer. In addition, the community section offers up topics ranging from recipes to forums and a business directory. “The best thing about our site is that all the input comes from the community. We are seeking articles, editorials, and any type of input from the community at large.” stated Mr. Roberts. He went on to explain that there are several forums on the site that allow people to discuss topics online. The young and old banter about topics ranging from Israel to video games.
The partners seem most proud of the fact that they offer a truly open site for all to participate. We firmly believe we offer the most unique modern interactive portal dedicated to our Jewish Memphis population.
A new service to the community is a calendar that the partners have worked on extensively. This online calendar permits Jewish organizations and members to post their community wide events on a medium that allows visibility to anyone with Internet access.

The directory allows anyone to search for businesses or professionals by category and then direct you to a member of our Jewish community. This service is currently offered at no charge to the local Jewish based and majority owned businesses.
